The science of humanitarian aid is one of the most relevant subjects today. We live in an age where armed conflicts are becoming increasingly complex and asymmetric, and natural disasters affecting crowds are unpredictable due to climate events, as well as many other influencing factors. One of the great moral questions of human existence is what it does to the distressed.

This volume seeks to provide an answer to the system-wide response of global communities to humanitarian crises that could be known in real-time in the digital age. Our book draws on the Hungarian Baptist Aid’s quarter-century experience of international aid, and we hope it can help answer a personal, internal question. Martyred Baptist pastor Martin Luther King Jr. put it this way: “The most important question in life is what we do for others.”
